Kristen Stilt is a Professor of Law and History at Northwestern and her research focuses on law in the Muslim world. Her first book, Islamic Law in Action: Authority, Discretion, and Everyday Experiences in Mamluk Egypt, was published by Oxford University Press in 2011. With the support of a Guggenheim Fellowship, she is currently working on a book project about the history of constitutional Islam.
